Abutting the ephemeral streambeds along Dove Mountain’s Ritz-Carlton lies a golf course designed by the Golden Bear himself — Jack Nicklaus. With the channel dry most of the year, the lush fairways thrive on reclaimed water. Since it isn’t suitable for human consumption, try your best to resist wading into the ponds. However, should you succumb to the temptation, be sure to not get any of the water in your eyes, mouth, or open wounds.

Beyond the greens, over 45 miles of trails wind through the desert — ideal for hiking, biking, horseback riding, or setting up a spontaneous ironing station for those who believe there’s never a wrong place, or time, to smooth out life’s wrinkles.
