Mount Lemmon is known for its picturesque sunset views at Windy Point Vista, the massive cookies from The Cookie Cabin, and its status as the southernmost ski destination in the United States. During the winter months, Mt. Lemmon transforms into a snowy oasis —locals often drive up just to pack the beds of their trucks with snow.
With an elevation of 9,157 feet (that’s 2,791 meters for my non-imperialists), the crisp mountain air makes for the perfect ironing retreat. Just make sure you don’t attempt to slide down the grassy ski slopes on an ironing board in the summertime; apparently, the staff is constantly on the lookout for such nefarious activities.
And to the two women who passed by with looks of repugnance as I posed for photos atop the deceased tree: I sincerely hope you learn to appreciate beauty in absurdity.
